The hepVo is much better than a “P trap”. First if you only occupy your home part of the year the water will evaporate and allow sewer gases into the residence. This would be even more prevalent if your home was vacant during the summer. The hepVo does not have this problem. And if you want/need to remove it for cleaning there is NO residual water to deal with as there is with the P trap.

We really like our Hepvo Waterless p trap. For four years we had to put a wash cloth in our master shower drain to keep out sewer gases, as our shower came from the factory with no trap. Due to space restraints you could not install a normal p-trap.

Saw this device at the FMCA International Convention/Rally this spring. Only one minor complaint. There should be one offered for 1.5” scheduled 40 PVC. We had to use two 1.5” sch 40 to 1.5” drain pipe adapters.

Again, the Hepvo Waterless p trap works great.
